Your four-day journey begins with pickup from Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport, Tangier port, your hotel or another agreed meeting point. Depending on your starting time, a brief stop can be arranged around Tangier before leaving the coast and heading toward Tetouan. The road then follows the Rif Mountains toward Chefchaouen. Spend time walking through the blue-painted medina, passing small squares, local shops and hillside lanes. Because this is a compact itinerary, the Chefchaouen visit is focused rather than a full-day stay. Continue south toward Volubilis, where you can walk among Roman columns, residential ruins, arches and preserved mosaic floors. The next stop is Meknes. Depending on the remaining time, pause near Bab Mansour, Place El Hedim or sections of the historic city walls. Arrive in Fes during the evening and check into your hotel or riad. Approximate distance: 450 to 500 kilometres Approximate driving time: 8 to 9 hours, excluding visits and meal stops Overnight: Fes

Private Morocco Tour
4-Day Tangier to Marrakech Desert Tour via Merzouga
Overview
Four days carry you from Morocco’s northern coast to Marrakech through blue mountain streets, imperial history, cedar forests, desert plateaus and the high dunes of Erg Chebbi. The route begins in Tangier and continues through Tetouan and Chefchaouen before heading south toward Volubilis, Meknes and Fes. This first stage is long, so visits are kept focused and adapted to the pickup time. From Fes, the landscape changes steadily along the road through Ifrane, the cedar forests near Azrou, Midelt and the palm groves of the Ziz Valley. By late afternoon, the road reaches Merzouga, where a camel ride leads across the dunes to a Sahara camp. The final two days pass through Rissani, Todra Gorge, Dades Valley, Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou before crossing the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. This private itinerary suits travelers who are comfortable with long driving days and want to experience northern Morocco, the Sahara and southern kasbah country within a limited schedule.
Tour Itinerary
Leave Fes early in the morning and begin the journey toward the Sahara through the Middle Atlas Mountains. The first stop is Ifrane, a quiet mountain town known for its gardens, clean streets and alpine-style buildings. Continue toward the cedar forests near Azrou. Barbary macaques may sometimes be seen in this area, although wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. The route passes mountain villages and open landscapes before reaching Midelt, where a lunch stop can be arranged. After lunch, continue through the Tizi n’Talghomt Pass and descend toward the Ziz Valley. Pause at a viewpoint overlooking palm groves, villages and oasis settlements. Pass through Errachidia and Erfoud before arriving in Merzouga in the late afternoon. At the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, meet your camel caravan and ride across the sand as the sun begins to set. After reaching the desert camp, enjoy mint tea, settle into your tent and have dinner. The evening usually includes traditional Amazigh music around the fire. Approximate distance: 460 to 480 kilometres Approximate driving time: 7 to 8 hours, excluding visits, meal stops and the camel ride Overnight: Sahara desert camp near Merzouga
Wake up early to watch the first light spread across the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel or four-wheel-drive vehicle, where your driver will be waiting. Continue toward Rissani, a traditional market town with a long history connected to regional trade and caravan routes. A short visit may be arranged depending on the day and available time. The road then passes desert settlements, palm groves and rocky plateaus before reaching Tinghir and Todra Gorge. Walk beneath the high limestone cliffs and spend time beside the river. Lunch can be arranged in the gorge or in Tinghir. In the afternoon, continue toward Dades Valley. The route passes cultivated fields, traditional villages, kasbahs and unusual rock formations. Arrive at your hotel or riad in the Dades area for dinner and overnight accommodation. Approximate distance: 280 to 310 kilometres Approximate driving time: 4 hours 30 minutes to 5 hours 30 minutes, excluding visits and meal stops Overnight: Dades Valley
After breakfast, leave Dades Valley and continue through the landscapes of southern Morocco. Pass through Kalaat M’Gouna and the Rose Valley before reaching the palm groves and historic kasbahs around Skoura. Continue to Ouarzazate, a city closely connected to Morocco’s film industry. When time allows, a panoramic stop can be made near Taourirt Kasbah or one of the local film studios. The main visit of the day is Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village built with traditional earthen architecture. Walk through the ksar, follow its narrow passages and take in the views across the surrounding valley. A local guide can be arranged at an additional cost. After lunch, cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Several stops can be made for mountain views, photographs and short breaks. Arrive in Marrakech during the late afternoon or evening. Your driver will drop you off at your hotel, riad or preferred location. Approximate distance: 310 to 340 kilometres Approximate driving time: 6 to 7 hours, excluding visits and meal stops

How much time will we have in Chefchaouen?
The first day includes a focused visit of the medina, with time for a walk through the blue streets, photographs and a short break. It is not a full-day stay because the route continues toward Fes.
Is this a private tour?
Yes. The itinerary is organized with your own air-conditioned vehicle and professional driver or driver-guide. The schedule can be adjusted when possible according to your pickup time and interests.
Is the camel ride included?
Yes. A sunset camel ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes is included. Guests who prefer not to ride a camel can request transportation to the camp by four-wheel-drive vehicle.
Where will we stay?
The tour includes one night in Fes, one night in a Sahara desert camp near Merzouga and one night in Dades Valley. The accommodation category depends on the package selected during booking.
Can the route be operated from Marrakech to Tangier?
